President- Kaitlyn Gawet
Kaitlyn is 16 years old and a sophomore
in high school. She loves to be with her horse, and loves to barrel race and go team penning. Kaitlyn's horse is 6 years old
and his name is Digger. She also plays basketball, soccer, softball and does other activities as well. This is her first year
as president, and was treasurer for the past few years.
Vice-President- Kayleigh McDonnell
Kayleigh McDonnell is the Vermont Quarter Horse Youth Association Vice President.
She has been actively involved in VQHYA and riding American Quarter Horses for as long as she can remember. She owns two horses,
Captive Bees and Cops Comet, which she shows in hunt seat events. Kayleigh is also one of your Region 6 Youth Directors. She
is always open to new ideas or suggestions so feel free to contact her anytime.
Secretary- Leah Thomas
Leah is a senior in high school, so
will be graduating soon. She's headed off to West Texas A&M for college this fall, and hopes to compete on the riding
team there. Leah likes to show in all-around events, but sadly her last show was in May. She plans on re-running for Region
Six Director at the YES Conference this year, and is running for AQHYA Secretary as well. Leah also loves to take photos and
hopes to continue that in college.
Treasurer- Tiffani
Schunk
Tiffani is a junior at Twinfield High School and
plans to go to college to become a large animal vet.
She has been riding since she was seven years old. Tiffani has two horses, one of which she plans to show at some quarter
horse shows this year. I am active in 4-H as well as the quarter horse youth group. This is
her first year as treasurer in VQHYA.
